JALINGO — Another bomb exploded on Friday at Nukkai, in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State, though, the numbers of casualties at the time of filing this report could not ascertain.
The incident, three days after members of the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) claimed responsibility for a bombing attack on a bar near a cattle market in Iware community of Ardo-Kola, where scores were killed and several others injured.
The latest blast occurred on Friday night at a beer joint in the Nukkai area located along Jalingo/Wukari road when the entire town was in a blackout due to a power outage.
It was gathered that the suspect arrived at the drinking joint with a polythene bag, dropped it, and took it to his heels.
The Taraba State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abdullahi Usman, confirmed the latest incident, saying the explosive was detonated behind the old Catholic church located in the Nukkai area of the state, adding that nine people sustained injuries.
ISWAP had claimed responsibility for the first attack, saying it targeted infidels.
