The United Arab Emirates Immigration authorities on Friday announced a visa ban on Nigerians. It also rejected all prior submitted applications, saying the fees were non-refundable.
The PUNCH reports that this was contained in a notice issued to UAE’s trade partners in Nigeria, including travel agencies.
“All Dubai applications submitted are now rejected. It is general for Nigerians and approvals are on hold at the moment”, the notice read.
Prospective Nigerian travellers to the oil-rich country were requested to resubmit their visa applications until “the issue is resolved between both governments.”
A customer representative from Air Peace who spoke to The PUNCH, however, said the airline is still flying to Dubai with those who already have a valid visa.
The representative said if any changes were to occur as regards flight for Nigerians, it would be duly communicated, adding that no issue had been raised at the moment.
