There was an impressive turnout of eligible voters across the 21 local government areas of Adamawa state that joined their counterparts across Nigeria in electing the President who will rule the country in the next four years along with National Assembly members.
Voters in the state have cast their ballots in 4,104 polling units.
Some voters started trooping into their various polling units as early as 7: am, while accreditation and voting could not commence as scheduled in most of the polling units in the state due to the late arrival of election materials and faulty BVAS.

As of 10:45 am, in Girei one primary school, Holmare/Kofar Jauro, and Sangere Clinic in Girei local government area elections have not commenced.
Similarly, elections started at about 10: am in Wuro Hausa and Mustapha primary schools in Yola town of Yola South local government area that houses many polling units.
Also, in Mayo Kalaye of the Jada local government area election started around noon due to the replacement of the new BVAS.
The story is the same with the late arrival of election materials in the Mubi North local government area.
Irked by the attitude of Electoral Officer Yola South local government, Adamawa State Residential Electoral Commissioner (REC), while monitoring the exercise in Hammawa and Toungo Polling units, Barr. Yunusa Hudu Ari ordered the removal of the Electoral Officer for negligence in causing the delay of voting in the local government area.
There was adequate security in polling units, while restriction of vehicles was observed with markets, shops, and other business premises remaining closed throughout the exercise.
