LifestyleNewsNigeriaRamadan: Church Extends Hand Of Fellowship To Muslims In Kaduna

To strengthen the brotherhood between Muslims and Christians in Kaduna State, the Church of Christ Evangelical and life Intercessory Ministry, Sabon Tasha, Kaduna, has donated bags of grains to over 1,000 Muslims as a gesture of support in the month of Ramadan.

Recall that Muslims world over commence the 2023 Ramadan Fasting today (Thursday) following the sighting of a new moon of Ramadan in some parts of the world.

The General Overseer of the Church, Pastor Yohanna Buru while presenting the items said the gesture is to support the needy in the Holy Month of Ramadan.

“The gesture is a tool for strengthening relationships, peaceful co-existence and religious tolerance” among the faiths, to attain peaceful and harmonious coexistence.

“Muslim faithful should intensify prayers throughout the Holy month of Ramadan for lasting peace and development of the nation,” Pastor Yohanna Buru said.
According to him, the gesture is a replica of the annual donation of clothes to widows and orphans of the church during Christmas, New Year, and Easter festivities.

Pastor Buru stated that the church last year had assisted poor Muslims in over five states with bags of rice, maize, and other food items to enable them to participate fully in fasting and prayers during the month of Ramadan.

“Wealthy Nigerians should indulge in humanitarian services to ease the hardship faced by vulnerable persons in the society.

“Marketers must stop taking advantage of the holy month of Ramadan to triple the prices of goods and services,” he said.

Receiving the items, the leader of the Association of Persons With Disabilities in the state, Malam Hassan Lawal Mohammed Sarkin kutaren Kaduna, while expressing happiness for the gesture, said the church had been providing them with foodstuff and grains for free throughout the Ramadan period for the past10 years.

“It is only God that can reward you for remembering us,” he said.
