For alleged misappropriation of funds, the Executive Secretary of the National Senior Secondary Education Commission (NSSEC), Prof. Benjamin Abakpa, has been suspended and was directed to hand over the affairs of the office to the most senior director in the commission.
The image maker of the commission, Fatima Bappare, who confirmed this said the suspension was contained in a letter signed by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Andrew David Adejo.
She said Prof. Abakpa was accused by the board members of financial misappropriation and lack of synergy, and administrative ineptitude, adding that Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) had been invited to carry out a full investigation into the allegations leveled against Prof. Abakpa.
