Two persons were buried alive in Konshisha local Government area in Benue State over allegedly being behind the thunder strike that affected one Henry Ihwakaa, his wife, and a two-week-old child.
Ihwakaa, the father of Henry, was accused by the youths of bewitching people with a thunderstorm in the area any time it rains.
The youths were said to have mobilized themselves on a fateful day, attacked Ihwakaa and his alleged collaborator, and later dug a shallow grave and buried them alive.
An elder in the community, Engr Baba Agan who is an eye witness said the matter was reported to the police in Konshisha local government and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), mobilized his men to the scene of the incident.
Before the arrival of the police team, the two persons had already died in the grave and their bodies were exhumed.
Benue Police Spokesman SP Sewuese Anene who confirmed the incident, warned members of the public against taking the law into their hands, adding that two suspects have been arrested in connection with the act while the investigation was ongoing.
