Adamawa State Governor, Ahamdu Umaru Fintiri has sworn in Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman as the first female substantive Chief Judge of the State who has been in an acting capacity since 2022.
Also sworn in are Khadi Ibrahim Sudi and Audu Balami as State Grand Khadi Sharia Court of Appeal and President Customary Court of Appeal respectively.
Their swearing-in followed a recommendation by the National Judicial Council and confirmation by the Adamawa State House of Assembly.
Performing the ceremony at the Government House Yola, Governor Fintiri while congratulating them on their promotion to the superior courts in the state described them as people with proven integrity who attested their capabilities and competence during their acting capacities.
Responding on behalf of those sworn in, the State Chief Judge, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman thanked Governor Fintiri for acting promptly on the recommendations of the National Judicial Council.
Justice Abdulraman pledged to do their best to promote the course of Justice in the state and adjudicate justice to all people in the state according to the dictates of the oath they have taken.
Justice Abdulrahman said she and her colleagues will do their best to adjudicate Justice to all manner of people in the state.
She expressed the conviction that the healthy collaboration between the three arms of government in the state will promote good governance and the welfare of Adamawa residents.
The oath of office and allegiance was administered to the State Chief Judge, Justice Abdulrahman by Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Barrister Afraimu Jingi.
Thereafter, the Chief Judge, Justice Abdulraman administered the same on the State Grand Khadi and President Customary Court of Appeal, Justices Sudi and Balami respectively.
