Federal Government To Refund Over N16 Billion To Borno State Government For Projects ExecutionBy Hassan Umar ShallpellaDuring its sitting on Tuesday, the House of Representatives approved the payment of N16,772,486,002.19 to the Borno State Government as a refund for projects executed on behalf of the federal government.The approval followed the adoption of recommendations of a report by the House Committee on Aids, Loans, and Debt Management.According to the report: “The approval by FEC for the reimbursement of the additional sum of N16,772,486,002.19 to Borno State government is to ensure that sufficient funds are provided for the completion of the Damboa-Chibok-Road based on the current cost of completion for the project.“Although the Damboa-Chibok-Mbalala Road Phase I and II have attained 95% and 72% completion respectively, the construction of the flyover bridge at Customs Roundabout and the dualization of the Maiduguri-Dikwa-Gamboru/Ngala Road have been completed. “The Borno State Government has paid all contractors that executed the highway projects”.
