Damilola Adeparusi, the 300L student of the Federal University Oye Ekiti, FUOYE, who commenced a 120-hour cooking marathon on Friday has completed it.
Adeparusi, who has come to be known as Chef Dammy, reached her 120-hour target at midnight.
The news of Dammy’s record attempt sent the Nigerian social media space into a frenzy. She received criticism from many Nigerians and praise from others.
Hilda Baci, whose 100-hour record Dammy was attempting to beat, sent her good wishes. The First Lady of Ekiti State, Olayemi Oyebanji, also sent her a message of support.
The vice-chancellor of FUOYE, Professor Abayomi Fashina and the institution’s dean of student affairs, Professor Dosu Malomo among other officials of the university visited the venue of the cook-a-thon to show their support.
During the cooking stint, Dammy prepared several meals such as beans with corn, amala, pounded yam, and rice and stew among others which were offered to the residents of Ilupeju-Ekiti, in Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State who flooded to the Benue to offer support and cheer her on.
