The Adamawa State Police has apprehended about 105 persons in connection with breaking government Warehouses in Yola, and looting food and non-food items.
On Sunday morning, some hoodlums broke into the warehouses of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) near Mai Doki roundabout and Kwanan Waya in Yola and carted away food and non-food items.
CP Tola Afolabi, Adamawa State Commissioner of Police disclosed this to newsmen at the Central Stores Jimeta during an assessment visit by the government and security delegations.

He said the suspects are undergoing investigation and called on youths in the state to engage productive ventures.
CP Afolabi attributed the incident to rumour in some quarters that the government has kept palliatives and refused to distribute it to the citizens.
“It was like a rumour, believing that palliatives were kept here and the government is refusing to distribute them, unfortunately it wasn’t like that,” Afolabi said.
He said upon receiving prior knowledge of the incident, the government has beefed up security around the Central Stores at PZ roundabout Jimeta and other places to forestall the occurrence but to no avail.
In the same vein, the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje said some of the stolen properties to include grains and water pumps have been recovered from the suspects.
He added that the Commissioner of Police has drafted detective to assess the level of destruction, stressing that security personnel had been deployed to secure public and private infrastructures as well as business premises.
Meanwhile, there is total compliance with 24 hour curfew imposed on the state by Governor Fintiri with streets in the state capital deserted.
According to Fintiri’s spokesman, Humwashi Wonosikou, the curfew followed the dangerous dimension the activities of hoodlums had assumed across the state capital as they attack people with matches and breaking into business premises carting away property.
The statement said there will be no movement throughout the state, but exempted those on essential duties.
