President Bola Tinubu has appointed Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos as the director general, DG, of the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA.
Dembo’s appointment, which is with immediate effect, was announced by presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale late Thursday.
Ngelale said President Tinubu also made an additional seven appointments for other agencies under the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
The National Orientation Agency, NOA, and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, will be headed by Lanre Issa-Onilu and Muhammed Bulama, respectively.
Charles Ebuebu was appointed as the DG of the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, while Lekan Fadolapo and Jibrin Baba Ndace were appointed as the new DGs of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, ARCON, and Voice of Nigeria, VON, respectively.
The President appointed Ali Muhammed Ali as the Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, and appointed Dili Ezughah as the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Press Council, NPC.
“The President tasks the newly entrusted leadership in these important sub-sectors to innovate and create new opportunities for Nigerians to leverage upon through the effective reform of these key institutions of government which function to unify our people, reshape mindsets, and showcase this great nation to the rest of the world,” Ngelale’s statement added.
