The National Assembly, NASS, on Monday, received eight brand new coaster buses from the NASS clerk, Magaji Tambuwal.

Tambuwal donated the vehicles to the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, PASAN, to cater for the transport needs of the staff given the soaring cost of transportation.

The deputy Senate president, Senator Barau Jibrin, commissioned the buses.

Jibrin said the gesture demonstrates the commitment of the Godswill Akpabio-led 10th NASS in addressing the wellbeing of staff.

He said when the request for the provisions of welfare buses came to the table of the Senate President, he promptly gave his assent because he prioritises staff welfare.

Speaking at the event, Tambuwal assured the staff of the implementation of the new N35,000 wage award for the entire NASS staff, which is part of President Bola Tinubu’s measures to ameliorate the impact of the fuel subsidy removal on federal workers.
