Police authorities in Katsina State, on Tuesday, confirmed the death of three notorious bandits’ leaders whose gangs terrorise Jibia local government areas of the State and its environs.
The bandits’ lords, called Bala Wuta, Dogo Na Sahura and Hassan Bukuru, were killed last Saturday, 25 November.
Police spokesperson Abubakar Aliyu said, via a press statement, that the bandits opened fire on some policemen and local citizen guards on a routine security patrol.
“The officers valiantly returned fire, forcing the terrorists to abandon their evil plan and flee into the nearby bush,” said Aliyu.
After the gunfire, “corpses of three neutralised suspected terrorists and a motorcycle which belonged to the bandits were recovered,” according to Aliyu.
Other members of the gang narrowly escaped death, albeit with critical wounds from gunshots.
“Efforts are on to arrest the fleeing suspects as the investigation proceeds,” the police spokesperson added.
