The Plateau State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the burning of the District Head of Bokkos Saf Adanchin Palace in Bokkos town in Bokkos Local Government Area of the state during a protest in the community.
Alabo Alfred, spokesperson for the command said the situation is now as peace had been restored in the area as investigation is ongoing to unravel what led to the uproar.
Alfred added that the command was working with other sister security agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Recall on Friday, Women and Youths took to the streets of Bokkos to express their displeasure over the arrest of some community members in connection with killings in the area on Christmas Eve.
The protesters took their agitation to the Joint Security Task Force Operation Safe Haven base and the Divisional Police Office in the Bokkos Local Government Area community and then proceeded to the district head’s palace and set the palace ablaze.
