Enugu State Government has signed a multi-million-dollar joint venture agreement with the Del-York Group for a multi-purpose sports and entertainment hub named the 042 Arena and Entertainment Park.
Expressing joy at the feat, the Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah said the venture will not only bring the desired development but also create job opportunities for the people.
The 042 Arena and Entertainment Park is a multi-purpose sports and entertainment hub designed to focus on key areas of development, training, innovation, education, talent discovery, hospitality, and entertainment among others.
On completion, apart from sports-related activities, the arena will provide for physical therapy, medical, and a performance centre; the Entertainment Park will among others have screening rooms, stages, and amphitheaters.
“It gladdens my heart that investors are now favoring our dear state as a location for businesses and investments. This demonstrates the success of our ceaseless efforts to make Enugu the safest place to live, invest, play sports, and enjoy leisure,” Governor Mbah said.
Mbah further said, “I’m hopeful that this project will create thousands of jobs for Ndi Enugu and also attract more investors and tourists to our state. It will also provide a platform for our young people to showcase their talents, thereby promoting sports and youth development in our state and the entire South-East region.”
In his address, the Chief Executive Officer of Del-York Group, Linus Idahosa, said the state was considered strategic for the launch of the project given the efforts of the state government in fostering growth and development of sports and entertainment industries in the southeast zone.
Idahosa also applauded the state government executives for their timely response and professionalism exhibited during the negotiations; the state shows seriousness in becoming a hub for investment and investors.
Mr. Frank Pastorino, an EVP Development investor with Del-York Group, in his speech, praised Enugu State and the country at large as having extra-ordinary potential and a wealth of opportunities specifically in areas of sports and creative industries which the rest of the world should pay special attention.
“Nigeria, and Enugu, is the epicenter where the future of sports talent and development should lie. The opportunity here in the South-East region is extraordinary, and we are very pleased to be here,” Frank Pastorino said.
The 042 Arena and Entertainment Park is a multi-purpose sports and entertainment hub; it is a partnership initiative with Del-York International Group designed to focus on key areas of development, training, innovation, education, talent discovery, hospitality, and entertainment among other areas of interest.
Del-York Agency, a multidimensional creative Agency, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Agency is Linus Idahosa.
