Enugu State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Anthony Ugochukwu, has died after a protracted struggle with chronic kidney disease, a family source has revealed.
A statement on Saturday by the family representative, Dr. Kingsley Ugochukwu, announcing the death of the late surgeon, said that the deceased died on April 3, 2020, at the Memphy’s Hospital, Enugu.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ugochukwu was until his death a Consultant Surgeon and immediate past Provost, Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) College of Medicine.
He was appointed as commissioner after Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi secured his second term ticket.
