Due to activities of insurgents that ravaged some parts of Northern Adamawa State in recent years, the Governor of the state Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has called for the establishment of Mobile Police Base and Counter Terrorism unit in Madagali local government area to boost the fight against Boko Haram Insurgency.
The Governor made the plea Thursday while receiving Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun at the Government House Yola, assured him of more collaboration as his administration would continue to support the Police with logistics, finance to enhance their operations for peace to reign in Adamawa State and the Country as a whole.
Earlier in his speech, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun attributed the numerous successes recorded by the Police in its operations to Adamawa State Government support and the collaboration with the military.
The Police Boss appealed that the partnership should be taken to the next level to enable people to continue to enjoy the dividends of Democracy.
The IGP revealed that his leadership would continue to build capacity of Police officers and equip them with the needed skills, prioritized community engagement for a safer and secure future for the people.
