… Nigeria Has Lost One Of Her Finest, Kalu Mourns
Former Minister of Education and Nigerian Ambassador to the United States, Professor Jibril Aminu is dead.
Aminu represented Adamawa Central in the Senate, from 2003-2011. He was born in Song, Adamawa State in 1939.
He was a Consultant Cardiologist, an influential educational administrator and a seasoned statesman.
The father of nine children and husband of Fatima and Ladi celebrated his 85th birthday on August 25, 2024.
The former Minister of Petroleum Resources was a renowned scholar, politician, diplomat and a towering figure in Nigerian public life.
In a condolence message to Aminu’s family, Senator Orji Kalu noted that Prof. Aminu was a man of great intellect and integrity, whose service to Nigeria inspired generations.
Kalu said in a press statement: “I’m deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Professor Jubril Aminu, a distinguished scholar, diplomat, and politician.
“He was a man of great intellect and integrity, whose service to Nigeria inspired generations. As Minister of Education and later Minister of Petroleum Resources, his visionary leadership helped shape critical sectors of our country. He was a true elder statesman and very personal to me.
“Prof. Aminu’s legacy will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched and the institutions he helped build. Nigeria has lost one of her finest”.
