Communities of Mubang and Zah in Yadul district of Hong LGA, Adamawa State, have again come under attack with no fewer than 14 civilians killed and several others injured by suspected Boko Haram terrorists.
The attacks which occurred around 6 pm on the 29th December 2025 came barely less than 48 hours after two soldiers on routine duty in the nearby communities were ambushed and killed by the terrorists.
The latest assault on affected communities that share a border with Sambisa forest in Borno State, the den of Boko Haram, has left many injured amid widespread destruction of properties and structures.
According to a Local, Mr. Abalis Jawaja described the attack as a “mayhem” that targeted vulnerable civilians, including women, youths, and elderly men.
“Suspected Boko Haram members rained terror on Mubang and Zah villages in a coordinated attack, killing indiscriminately.
“Over 14 persons are feared killed so far, and the toll could rise as searches continue,” he added.
“Attackers set fire to numerous homes, rendering entire families homeless, while looting food items and other valuables,” he said.
Displaced survivors are fleeing to safer towns, including Yola, the state capital.
Troops from Operation Hadin Kai, in collaboration with police and Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) members, have been deployed to the area, with intensified patrols aimed at repelling further incursions.
