Crime & SecurityNewsNigeriaCommissioner of Police Vows To Flush Out Criminals From Adamawa

Commissioner of Police. CP Kabir Umar Hassan has called on all stakeholders, traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth associations, and transport unions to collaborate with the Police, stressing that Security is a collective responsibility.
CP Hassan made the declaration during his maiden media briefing on Thursday at the Police Officers Mess, Yola, said the command will use all legitimate means within the ambit of the law to ensure that criminals are apprehended and brought to justice.
“If you see something, say something. We will establish open lines of communication and ensure that our patrols are more visible and accessible in both urban centers and rural communities.
“I come to you not as a stranger to this terrain but as a police officer with decades of experience in various operational and administrative capacities across this nation. I am a man of the law, and under my watch, the law will be upheld firmly, fairly, and without fear or favor.
“My vision for the Adamawa State Police Command is anchored on three core pillars: Professionalism, Intelligence-led Policing, and Community Partnership,” he said.
He warned Police Officers to ensure they protect the rights of citizens and not to infringe upon them and urged the public to report any misconduct through our official channels for appropriate action.
“There will be zero tolerance for indiscipline, extortion, and other forms of misconduct by any officer under my Command,” he said.
CP Hassan warned that criminals would not have safe haven in Adamawa saying, “Those who have chosen the path of crime in Adamawa State, let me be unequivocal: This is the end of the road for you. My tenure will be uncomfortable for you. We are coming for you.
“We will target criminal hideouts, dismantle syndicates involved in kidnapping, armed robbery, and cattle rustling, and ensure that the peace of Adamawa is not negotiated but enforced.
“The Command will be shifting from reactive to proactive policing. Our operations will be driven by actionable intelligence. We will leverage technology, enhance surveillance, and strengthen our relationship with other security agencies and non-state actors to ensure coordinated and robust security provisions across the state.
“I am not here to play politics with security; I am here to secure lives and property. I urge you to abandon crime and embrace peace, or leave the state entirely. There will be no safe haven for lawlessness,” he added.
CP Hassan, while assuring Journalists of his commitment to transparency, work with them based on the principles of accuracy and mutual respect.
The Police Boss urged them to always verify facts with the Public Relations Officer before publication, called on them to avoid sensationalism that endangers public security or jeopardizes ongoing operations.
He thank the government and good people of Adamawa State for their continued support of the Nigeria Police Force, hoping to see a tenure marked by progress, safety, and collaboration.
