The Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) Teaching Hospital, Okene, is to secure Clinical Accreditation from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza, announced this at a two-day Joint Committee Meeting held  at the Teaching Hospital in Okene, reaffirmed the ñhealthcare delivery.
Dr. Abdulazeez commended the leadership of CUSTECH, Osara, for its commitment to the take-off and growth of the College of Medicine, describing the accreditation process as a milestone towards producing highly skilled medical professionals in the state.
He emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between the university and the teaching hospital, noting that synergy between both institutions remains key to achieving clinical accreditation.
The Vice Chancellor of CUSTECH, Osara, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, acknowledged the foundational role played by former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello in initiating the construction of the teaching hospital.
 He also praised Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his decisive support in ensuring the College of Medicine’s successful take-off.
According to the Vice Chancellor, the university has already admitted students into 100 and 200 levels in the MBBS program, and assured that the management of the institution is fully committed to providing the necessary support required for a successful accreditation exercise.
In his remarks, the Chief Medical Director of the Teaching Hospital, Dr. Stephen Shuaibu, appreciated the state government for its continued support and appealed for additional assistance to enable the hospital to meet all required standards set by the MDCN.
Also speaking, the Provost of the College of Medicine, CUSTECH, Osara, Prof. Solomon Avidime, expressed confidence that with sustained government backing, the teaching hospital would successfully scale through the accreditation process.
As part of preparations for the accreditation visit, members of the Joint Committee conducted an on-site assessment of the hospital’s structures and facilities to evaluate its level of readiness.
