Some suspected Fulani militants invaded Naridon in Kamuru Ward of Chawai Chiefdom in Kamuru Local Government of Kaduna State, killing 29 persons, three others sustained various degrees of injuries, and one is missing.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, Chawai Development Association (CDA) National, (PRO) Comr. Yohanna Bishara, that the incident occurred in the early morning of 27th July, 2026.
“In the early hours of Monday, 27th July 2026, the peaceful village of Naridon in Kamaru Ward, Chawai Chiefdom, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State came under a deadly attack.
“The assault lasted for several hours and left the community devastated. As at the time of this release, the following casualties and damages have been recorded,” the statement added.
The statement said searching the missing person is still ongoing.
The leadership of CDA National, who strongly condemned the barbaric and demonic act in the strongest terms, calls on all relevant security agencies at the Local, State, and Federal levels to intensify investigations with a view to identifying, apprehending, and prosecuting the culprits.
“We also debunk the false information circulating on social media that the attack was in retaliation. This narrative is either deliberately fabricated by the perpetrators and their sympathizers as a defensive mechanism or borne out of mere assumptions and mischief.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones. We also pray for the speedy recovery of those receiving treatment,” they concluded,” the statement said.
The organization called for the establishment of a strong, permanent military base along the axis of Kamaru Ward and other remote areas in Tsam Land to forestall a recurrence of this tragedy.
