Suspected terrorists have attacked Nzangola village in Gombi LGA of Adamawa State, killing at least 11 people and injuring several others.
According to sources, the attackers stormed the community on Sunday, 6/9/2026, around 5:00 pm local time, and fired sporadically, leading to the casualties.
The attackers also burnt houses and abducted some women.
It added that the village has now been deserted, while the injured victims are now receiving medical attention at Cottage Hospital Gombi and Federal Medical Centre Hong.
When contacted by phone, the Chairman of the Gombi local government council, Hon. Mark Ishaya, confirmed the incident and said he had already informed the Governor of the situation in the area.
Several calls were made to the Adamawa State Police Command spokesman, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, but there was no response as at the time of filing this report.
Nzangola village shared borders with some communities in the Hong local government area that have become vulnerable to terrorists’ heinous acts for more than ten years since the Boko Haram/ISWAP launched attacks on several communities in the Northeast.
