Temi Nkem has emerged winner of the 11th season of Big Brother Naija, winning the “Show Ya Sef” edition after 70 days of competition.
The 21-year-old, whose real name is Temitope Chigbue, was announced as the winner at the grand finale on Sunday, beating Aikou, Sheba, Bluethopia, Tram, Flora, Ricky, Oyin and Barry to the title.
Nkem polled 25.87 per cent of the total votes cast by viewers in Nigeria and across Africa, while Aikou finished as the first runner-up with 23.68 per cent and Sheba came third with 9.80 per cent.
The victory earns Nkem a prize package valued at ₦160 million, comprising ₦90 million in cash, a brand-new SUV and other sponsored prizes. The cash component was reduced from the original N100 million after ₦10 million was allocated to the Most Influential Player of the Week (MIPOW) prize fund.
The final night saw six housemates leave the competition before the top three were revealed. Barry finished ninth, followed by Oyin in eighth place. Ricky and Flora finished seventh and sixth respectively, while Tram came fifth and Bluethopia fourth.
Aikou was subsequently announced as the first runner-up before Sheba took third place, leaving Nkem as the final housemate standing.
Nkem’s victory makes her the fifth female winner in Big Brother Naija’s history.
The season began on July 26 with 24 housemates — 12 men and 12 women — competing for the record prize. The 70-day season featured weekly tasks, Head of House games, nominations, evictions and several twists, including the Gambit format and changes to the Head of House veto powers.
The season also recorded two disqualifications and one voluntary exit, making it the first BBNaija season in which all three forms of departure occurred.
Nkem is a student and lifestyle content creator who studies Accounting and Finance. According to her official Big Brother Naija profile, her hobbies include golfing, eating and walking.
The grand finale, hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, also featured performances by Nigerian artistes Teni and Oshamo.
The “Show Ya Sef” edition brings to an end another season of the reality show, which has continued to attract a large audience across Nigeria and other African countries.
