Tension over the news that immigrants from Africa’s most populous country were blocked from coming to the U.S. may have been drastically eased when Who’s Who in Nigerian Diaspora Inc. announced its inaugural publication of Nigerian professionals living abroad.  The 2020 edition of Who’s Who in Nigerian Diaspora will unravels a compilation of projected 2,000 profiles of prominent Nigerian professionals representing practically every major field of endeavor. Currently, a vast majority of Nigerians have positioned themselves at various regions of the world, making it harder for major corporations worldwide to track individuals with pacific disciplines. Besides, the Nigerian government in particular has struggled very unsuccessfully to properly identify and utilize millions of Nigerian talents in the Diaspora. Their efforts have been limited to unproductive “Diaspora conferences” and politically tailored events.

Morgan Harris, a global talent-engagement consultant based in Houston told reporters that this platform was needed to basically assist government and entities to identify Nigeria talents wherever they are. “Right now we rely on social media to source Nigerians needed for specific projects we have in sub-Saharan Africa, but it has been really tough. Who’s Who in Nigerian Diaspora is basically a platform coordinated by a group of strategists to organize professionals of Nigerian ancestry worldwide. Using robust technologies and reliable assessment standards, the WW Platform partners with major Nigerian groups and communities, local governments, and academic institutions to identify and document Nigerian professionals.

The platform will further categorize directory content into cities, regions, and states. For instance, WW in Diaspora Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, and so on would specifically profile Nigerian professionals in those cities.

Nigerians are always in the news worldwide as very hardworking, innovative, and intelligent people so passionate about live accomplishments. In the United States for instance, 17 percent of Nigerians held master’s degrees while 4 percent had a doctorate, according to a 2006 American Community Survey conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau. Also, this study showed that additional 37 percent had bachelor’s degrees. Not just in America, also in various other countries, Nigerians excel at various disciplines, hence, coordinating their talent, routine professional engagements, and accomplishments becomes a necessity.

According to the facilitator of the Who’s Who in Nigerian Diaspora, Linda A.
