The number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Enugu State has risen to 10; while two persons have been discharged, there are now 8 active cases with no fatality.

The new case is the son of the woman, the third confirmed case who despite the Government’s travel ban, travelled to Jos, Plateau State, and back to Enugu State.

The young man had been at large but for the daunting efforts of the surveillance team of the State Ministry of Health who traced and apprehended him for testing which unfortunately turned positive; he is currently at the isolation and treatment center.

The Commissioner for Health, Obi Emmanuel Ikechukwu, directs residents to be vigilant, report any suspected COVID-19 case, and strictly adhere to government released precautionary measures.

“Stay home and only go out when absolutely necessary. Help the government protect you,” he said.

Obi further calls on Enugu residents to call any of the following numbers 0818 255 5550 or 0902 233 3833 or the NCDC number 0809 700 0010 if they suspect anyone with COVID-19 symptoms.
