Mr. Simeon Nwakaudu, the Special Assistant (Electronic Media) to Gov. Nyesom Wike of Rivers is dead.

Nwakaudu’s death was announced in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim, in Port Harcourt on Sunday.

According to Nsirim, Gov. Wike expressed shock over the sudden death of Nwakaudu.

The governor described late Nwakaudu as a loyal and dedicated professional, who contributed immensely to the implementation of ‘The NEW Rivers Vision’.

“The governor, on behalf of his family, the government and good people of the state condoled with the bereaved family.

“He prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the great loss.’’

Late Nwakaudu died on Sunday at the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH), after a brief illness.

His dearth was received with sadness and shock by a cross section of journalists in the state.

Mr Ruskin Amadi, a senior journalist in Rivers lament the death of Nwakaudu.

“Oh; it’s a pity; life is truly a brief candle as captured in William Shakespeare’s Macbeth.

“I sympathise with the Nwakaudu family,’’ Amadi said.

Mr. Ignatius Chukwu, another senior journalist with BusinessDay, remarked that “the children are still very young; chai ’’.

Also, Mr. Dianabasi Effiong, the South-South Zonal Manager of NAN, described Nwakaudu’s dearth as “shocking and unexpected ’’.

Others, who were equally shocked by his demise, prayed that the Almighty God comforted those that the late Nwakadu left behind.
