The survivor of the Tuesday attack by Boko Haram on Fanduma Koloram, in the Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State, narrates the experience to the State Governor, Babagana Zulum, on Wednesday.

The survivor says the insurgents pretended to be Islamic Religious crusaders, collected arms from herders and killed 81 persons.

He added that he called for help from neighbouring village to bury 31 of 81 victims of the attack in a mass grave. He also said there were other 13 who were injured while seven persons were abducted in the attack on Tuesday.

In his words, “The insurgents disguised as if they had come to enlighten the community, disarmed the herders and shot all of them, including the underaged, and even their animals. They abducted seven people.”

Governor Zulum on the other hand expresses his annoyance and urges the military to begin final onslaught that should put an end to the insurgents in the shore of the Lake Chad.

In the same vein, President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday describes the attack as shocking.

In a statement by Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, Buhari describes the killing as one of the most brutal attacks by the terrorist group, which has happened to innocent people in the North East.

While condemning the attack, Buhari charges the Army to sustain their “recent string of successes against the terrorists to extract a heavy price from the attackers, and bring back all those they kidnapped as well as a large number of cattle rustled.”
