Chief Press Secretary to the deputy governor of Adamawa state, George Kushi, has emerged the Chairman of the forum of Heads of Media to deputy governors in Nigeria.

Kushi, emerged the chairman after the group reached a consensus on his candidacy in the early hours of Saturday through an online election conducted by the forum.

The result of the election was pronounced by Mr Ekikere Umoh, CPS to the Deputy Governor of Akwa-Ibom State after Kushi was endorsed by delegates from the six geopolitical zones of the country.

The forum, which consists of 36 members, was created to among other objectives; harmonize and coordinate the functions of heads of media to deputy governors in Nigeria.

Speaking on his policy direction, Mr. Kushi, said the group will immediately make its advisory contribution towards tackling some of the nation’s security challenges.

He said, “as heads of media to deputy governors, we have a role to play in nation-building, as such, we will soon unfold plans on how best the mass media can be channeled to help address some security problems in the country”.

Reports say that the forum is the first of its kind in history.
