Former Vice President and 2019 Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar has thrown his weight behind the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, saying that he is capable of leading the PDP to victory in the coming Edo State governorship election, scheduled for September.
The National Working Committee of the PDP on Friday appointed Wike as the Chairman, Edo State Governorship Election Campaign Council.
The council is a 77-member team, which includes Atiku and 13 other PDP governors.

His tweet reads, “Congratulations, @GovWike on your appointment as Chairman of Edo State Governorship Election National Campaign Council of our great party, @OfficialPDPNig.
“I am confident that your leadership, supported by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, the Vice-Chairman, and other members of the PDP #Edo2020 Council will work assiduously for the victory of @GovernorObaseki, and set Edo State on the path of even greater development.”
