Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state has expressed dismay over continued conflicts in some parts of the country despite an effort by the government to contain it.

The Governor was speaking while inaugurating members of the reconstituted Special Administrative Panel to investigating the conflict between Lunguda and Waja Communities in Dumna District of Guyuk Local Government area.

“Cycle of conflicts that Nigeria is facing today have deepened the frustration that despite several attempts at peace-building, it is evident that the country has remained one of the conflict-ridden areas in the world”. He explained.
He challenged the panel members, to begin with, energy until the work is done.

 The terms of reference of the panel include identifying remote causes of the conflict between Lunguda and Waja communities, identifying persons or persons of the group involve directly or indirectly in the conflict.

Others include identify the extend of distraction to lives and property, and where possible identify the culprit, investigate and find out whether the person responsible for the loss of lives and properties among others.

Responding, the Chairman of the Panel, General Zakariya Yaduma (Retired) pledged that the panel will work assiduously to bring recommendations that will bring lasting peace in the area.
