Religious leaders in Adamawa State, Northeast Nigeria have appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to improve the present security situation in the country and bring relief to the citizenry.
In separate interviews, the religious leaders noted that some parts of the country are battling with insecurity.
The state chairman of the Christian Association in Nigeria CAN Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza and the State Chairman Muslim council Alhaji Gambo Jika in an interview explained that the security situation in the country is getting worst.
“Government should overhaul the nation’s security architecture for a better way to fight against insecurity and terrorism bedeviling some parts of the country”. Mamza added
The Bishop called on Nigerians to continue to be united in other to fight corruption, insecurity and build a better Nigeria.
On his part, the State Chairman of the Muslim Council of Nigeria, Alhaji Gambo Jika said the security in the country has taken a new dimension ranging from kidnapping, herders/farmers clashes, and shila boys.
“Government at all levels should tackle the security challenge by providing necessary equipment to the security personnel as no meaningful development in an atmosphere devoid of peace”. Jika said.
Jika further said Government should revisit the National Guard Initiated by late Sani Abacha as a measure to halt insecurity in the country.
