The Adamawa State Police Command in the month of November arrested a total of 32 suspected kidnappers, 4 armed robbers and recovered nine vehicles, nine AK 47 Rifles, and 664 live ammunitions.

Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Olubenga Adeyanju while presenting the suspects to newsmen at the command’s headquarters in Yola attributed the achievements to the relentless effort and sacrifices made by officers of the Anti-Kidnapping unit with the support from government and good people of the state.

“The suspects were apprehended in various places across the state haven been suspected to be those responsible for kidnapping activities in both Adamawa and Taraba states”. He said.

Adeyanju added that one Hamadu Umoru , 37years and others at large conspired and kidnapped an eleven year old boy and several others at Sangere FUTY, Girei local government area, but was arrested in Mubi and eight vehicles of different models was recovered along with the ransom.

“On 19/0/2020, the command acted upon information that Yusuf Musa 35 years, Sale Kade Adamau 30years, and Modi Luka 33 years, are involved in kidnapping activities both in Adamawa and Taraba states. The suspects in various places kidnapped several people, demanded and collected Thirty million naira (N30, 000,000) ransom. Investigation conducted not only led to their arrest but equally recovered five AK 47 rifles in their possession”. He said

Adeyanju further stated that other suspects were arrested for criminal conspiracy, kidnapping and Armed Robbery and various items include four AK 47 rifles, two laptops, one Air conditioner, ten handsets, one locally made pistol, 16 Arrows and six knives among others.

“The suspects on several occasions kidnapped, demanded and collected ransom of ten million naira (N10, 000,000) from their innocent victims. Operatives of the Anti-kidnapping unit in collaboration with professional Hunters apprehended the suspects from their hideouts”. He said
