A young businessman, identified as Umoke Solomon has been reportedly abducted by unidentified gunmen in the Ezzagu community, Ishielu local government area of Ebonyi state, at about 11 pm on Saturday, January 30th.
According to a source, Solomon returned home last month to celebrate the new year with his people. He was attacked together with his two brothers Umoke Peter and Imoke Chikezie in his RAV4 Jeep and their Camry car conveying other travelers.
The report gathered said there have been series of criminal attacks in the Ezzagu community in recent time.
It was gathered that the hoodlums also attacked another group of travelers on the same road and robbed them of their belongings after shooting sporadically on their vehicle and injured many.
One of the victims whose name was given as Emmanuel Nwite expressed shock over the attack.
He said, “We were coming down from Onitsha for a function in our village when the armed men attacked us from the nearby bush shooting sporadically and directly towards our car. It was by the grace of God that I and my brothers in the car survived. We managed to escape with a various degree of injuries.
WAP learned that Victims of the attack who were heavily wounded were rushed to University Teaching Hospital Enugu/ Ituku Ozalla for medical treatment where they are responding to treatment. The two vehicles with bullets wound have been recovered at the police station.
Contacted, the police public relations officer Ebonyi state command DSP Loveth Odah confirmed the report.
She said the hoodlums are demanding 10 million naira ransom but the police intelligence team is on it and expressed confidence that in no distant time the victim will be rescued unhurt.

“The suspects have started calling demanding for 10m ransom but the intelligent lead investigation is ongoing we are very sure in no distance time there will be a breakthrough and we will let the public know,” Odah said.
