YOLA —  The District Head of Vokna-Pakka in Maiha Local Government Area in Adamawa State Alhaji Adamu Abubakar has again stressed the need for people in the area to be security conscious at all times.

The District Head who made the reminder in an interview in Yola urged the people to report any suspicious movement of person or group of persons in their midst relevant to security agencies for prompt action.

“Maintenance of peace is a collective task which cannot be left to security agencies alone, adding such collaboration will contribute towards security and peace in the land.

“I commend Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for various steps taken to stem the tide of insecurity in the state, including the provision of patrol vehicles to security the outfit’s code-named “Operation Farauta”, Abubakar said.

The District Head however called on the government to improve the welfare of members of Vigilante groups to enable them to continue supporting security agencies in the fight against crime and criminalities across the 21 local government areas of the state.

He also called for the opening up of rural roads so that farmers could transport their farm produce to market in the urban centres.

Abubakar expressed satisfaction with the renovation of his palace which Boko Haram insurgents occupied during their onslaught on the community some years back, stressing that the intervention has given the palace a befitting outlook.
