The Adamawa State Chairman of Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Prince Olu Adegoka has advocated for sensitization of citizens on security as a way of bringing to end insecurity being experienced in some part of the country.
He made the remark during a congratulatory visit on the new commissioner of Police in the state Aliyu Adamu Alhaji.
“Members of the committee in all the 21 local governments are ever ready to work with the Police command to strengthen community policing and will continue to sacrifice their time, energy, and resources to ensure security in the society”, he added.
Responding, the Adamawa state Commissioner of Police Aliyu Adamu Alhaji who expressed delight with the visit, said it will further cement cordial relationship between the Police and members of the committee in the state.
“Members of the committee being professionals and leaders in their respective areas should build strong relations between their immediate communities so as to have relevant information on important issues.
“PCRC is a strong stakeholder in policing the society and played a prominent role towards encouraging officers and men of the Police Force to perform effectively”, he said.
Aliyu called on members of the committee to always assist the police to make it a peaceful state for development to thrive.
In their separate remarks, the National Provost Marshal of PCRC, Prince Sa’ad Ibrahim Gurin, and the Adamawa State PCRC Woman Coordinator, Hajiya Hadiza Aliyu Mahmud pledged their maximum support to the police in the maintenance of peace and security in the state.
