“Adamawa State has diagnosed and placed on treatment 385 persons on drug-sensitive TB and seventy drug resistance TB patients in 2020.

In her message, the wife of the Adamawa State Governor, Hajiya Lami Umaru Fintiri has challenged people avoid stigmatization of those infected with tuberculosis disease, but encourage them for treatment as it is a curable disease.

Represented by Special Assistant to Governor Fintiri on Education, Mrs. Hannatu Kadala, the wife of the governor commended the state tuberculosis team for successful treating eleven persons infected with the disease and called on others to take advantage of the government own leprosy control centres so as to curtail the spread of the disease.

She assured me that her doors are always opened to support tuberculosis and leprosy programs in the state.

“Development partners, civil society organizations, and media should redouble their efforts on enlightening patients especially those in rural areas that TB treatment is free and the disease is curable”, she said.
