One Humble Paul, a 26-year- old man from Aidogodo community in Okpoga Local Government Area of Benue State has been electrocuted to death at Ede Ai-agbenu village after climbed the electricity pole to reconnect some residents of Ede Ai-agbenu to the power grid.
Eyewitnesses said some Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JEDC) staff had earlier disconnected some consumers in the area from its electricity supply over their failure to pay an alleged N400 light bill.
The affected consumers then had resorted to engaging the deceased who they claimed was an electrician.
It was gathered that while the deceased was atop the pole reconnecting the disconnected wires, JEDC restored the power supply to the line, and the deceased got stuck to the pole instantly, probably working on naked wires without any protective equipment.
DSP Catherine Anene, Benue State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) confirmed the incident.
