The Adamawa State Police command on 01/4/2021 apprehended 2 suspects in connection to robberies in Mayo Belwa local government.

Items recovered from them are an Ak-47 rifle and a motorcycle.

According to a statement by the Police image maker in the state, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje said the suspects were arrested in their hideouts in Mayo-Farang village, Mayo Belwa local government Areas following credible information.

The suspects Manzo Danladi  33 years and Simon Bitrus 35years all residents of Nyibango village, Mayo Belwa local government area of Adamawa state.

“They were apprehended at their hideouts in Mayo-Farang village, Mayo Belwa local government Areas following credible information and intense search by the Police Detectives attached to Mayo Belwa Division.

“Investigations so far revealed that the suspects prior to their arrest severally blocked the highway linking Zing and Mayo Belwa local governments of Taraba and Adamawa States and robbed innocent travelers of their belongings.

“The Commissioner Police CP Aliyu Adamu Alhaji while commending DPO Mayo Belwa and his men for making it difficult for these criminals to escape arrest, equally directs discreet investigations into the case for proper prosecution”, the statement added.

It then calls on people to always report any suspicious movement around their neighborhoods to the police.
