Gunmen in the early hours of Monday attacked the Nigeria Police Force Zonal Headquarters in Ukpo, Dukunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra state.
The attackers who gained entrance into the zonal headquarters were said to have invaded the premises of the complex, from behind where there is an adjoining bush.
As of the time of filing this report, the Police Force has not made any formal statement about the attack and has also not spoken to the press about the situation. However, The West African Pilot News gathered that the hoodlums were prevented from gaining access into the armory of the Zone and also that the Police lost at least two officers, while a number of the gunmen were neutralized, during the gun battle.
Meanwhile, a section of the Police Zone 13 administrative building was set on fire by the gunmen, as well as some vehicles parked within the premises.
