AWKA — Youths and Women groups under the umbrella of United Anambra State Youth Assembly and United Anambra State Women Assembly have designated two telephone hotlines to assist security agents to track bad eggs in the state.
The two lines are; 08168457478 and 08030457176 were unveiled during a political meeting organised by groups backing the governorship ambition of Prof. Charles Soludo on Saturday in Awka.
The lines which informant who noticed any wrongdoing would only send text was to help check the activities of bandits and hard drugs traffickers in the state.
Rep. Chinedu Obidigwe (APGA-Anambra East and Anambra West Federal Constituency) who doubles as the leader of the groups said that the event was for two reasons.
“We are here to commend Gov. Willie Obiano for his sterling leadership qualities and to present N22 million cheque to Prof. Soludo to enable him to purchase APGA governorship form for the November 6 election”, he said.
Obidigwe said that Soludo, the former Central Bank of Nigeria governor was a thorough groomed professional capable of maintaining the legacy of Obiano’s administration.
He further explained that the group equally purchased 26 Sienna buses at N71 million to help mobilise for the actualization of the Soludo 2021 project.
Prof. Soludo who was visibly excited thanked the groups for the rare show of interest in his governorship aspirantion.
Chief Primus Odili, Chief of staff to Gov. Obiano said that his principal was pleased with the interest of the youths in helping to check the rising cases of insecurity.
He also praised the initiative of the group in projecting APGA to retain power in the state.
The meeting attended by Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, Secretary to the state government, Mr. Uche Okafor, Speaker of the state assembly, commissioners, lawmakers and APGA supporters drawn from the 21 Local Government Areas of the state among others.
