YOLA — Adamawa state Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has accused some unscrupulous persons in the society of collaborating with security personnel to perpetrate various nefarious activities.

Fintiri made the accusation when the newly posted AIG Zone 3 comprising Adamawa, Gombe, and Taraba states, Daniel Surkan Pedro paid him a courtesy call in his office in Yola on Tuesday.

“Fish out bad eggs that collaborate with criminals among the police and deal with them decisively so as to rid the state of criminal activities.”

“some criminals were released without proper investigation, due to their connections, I urged you as the police chief to address the problem for a peaceful society,” Fintiri said.

He stated that before ascension to power, criminality has been the order of the day and expressed happiness that Adamawa under his watch is now among the ten safest states in the country.

The Governor added that even the opposition political parties in the state have acknowledged that his administration has rid the state of the menace of Shilla cult group and other forms of crimes to the barest minimum.

He assured the AIG of the state government’s commitment to ensuring that Adamawa is safe through collaboration with the AIG towards achieving a free crime society.

Earlier in his remark, the new AIG zone 3, Mr. Daniel Surkan Pedro expressed appreciation for the robust synergy between the police and other stakeholders in the state.

“The incidences of crime in a state like Adamawa that was ravaged by activities of insurgence has reduced drastically,” he said.

AIG Pedro promised to ensure that peace continues to prevail in the state.
