OTUOKE, (BAYELSA) — The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Otuoke, Prof. Teddy Adias, has urged new students of the institution to always take their studies serious.
This was as Adias averred that the institution believes in good character and high academic performances.
Adias disclosed this at the 10th matriculation of the institution, at Otuoke, in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa, on Saturday.
Addressing the matriculants, the vice chancellor advised them to take their studies seriously and also take the right direction in all they do.
He warned the students to steer clear of all illegal associations and relationships wthin and outside the university.
Adias added that students, who cannot cope with the standards of the institution in terms of character and academic performance would be shown the way out.
On the successes recorded so far, Adias noted that the ceremony marked the formal admission of 2, 423 students for the 2020/2021 academic session into the university.
“Always allow the university to pass through you, not you allowing yourself to pass through the university,” he said.
He said,” they can now see themselves as full and bonafide members of the Federal University Otuoke,” advising them to always abide by the rules and regulations of the institution.
Adias advised them to shun all criminal or cult-related activities that may tarnish their images of their families, guardians, sponsors, and the institution.
The VC further warned,” anyone found wanting in any way would be shown out of the university.”
The Registrar of the University, Mr. Yousuo Iruo, cautioned the new students to be of good behavior, urging, “always remember the purpose of your being in the environment of learning.”
