YOLA — Rev. Fr. Professor Anthony Bature, the Executive Director, Foundation for Peace, Hope and Conflict Management (HPHCM) says that agriculture remains a veritable means of eradicating poverty and ending food insufficiency in any nation.

Nature made this known at a workshop organized by the Foundation on how the youths who are going about seeking white-collar jobs can take advantage of modern agricultural technologies and desist from shifting blame by making use of the available God’s gift like land to better their lives.

“Nigerian youths should take advantage of the modern agricultural practices to improve their livelihood; unemployment would not only be reduced but will also boost wealth creation.

“Low economic growth performance, crime, and violence, weak governance, ill-health among others as factors presently posing threats to young men and women in the country, taking advantage of modern agriculture would help to address the vices presently confronting the nation.

“Modern farming would “make our youths be self-reliant and not wait for government jobs, Youths should “rise up and use their strength to be useful to the society by cultivating land for farming.”

“Why youths have continued to complain of lack of jobs, “stop complaining that there are no jobs in Nigeria, God has given us natural gifts, the abundant lands spread all over the country,” he queried.
