The Adamawa State Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza has enjoined politicians to play the game of politics with decorum ahead of 2023 general elections in the country.

Mamza in his Christmas message/mass celebration held at Saint Theresa cathedral Jimeta, noted that the country is passing through a trying moment with insecurity in some parts of the country.

“God is aware of the challenges bedeviling the country as life is very difficult for people ranging from insecurity, pandemic, unemployment, all Christians should believe that there is hope and light at the end of the trial,” Mamza said.

Mamza who is the Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese therefore called on Christians in Adamawa to make Jesus Christ the centre and focused of the Christmas celebration and to reflect on the coming of Jesus who bears God light and hope to the world.

He explained that Christmas celebration is not done in the market, fashion show or saloon rather people should go on their knees in prayers, pointing out that Christmas is a day of reconciliation, love and sharing.

“Christmas is a season of joy, love, generosity; Christians should share what they have with the less privileged around them,” he said.
