Kannywood actress, Sadiya Haruna, has been sentenced to six months imprisonment without an option of a fine by a high court in Kano State for defaming her colleague and ex-lover, Isa A. Isa.

The actress had, in a viral video on Instagram, accused Isa of being a “homosexual, a bastard, and an unrepentant womaniser.”

She also alleged that the actor demanded anal sex from her and she shared videos of him all over social media as she continued with the accusations.

The Kano Chief Magistrate Court sitting at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, presided over by Justice Muntari Garba Dandago, sentenced the actress to 6 months in prison.

The Chief Magistrate, Muntari Dandago, said he found the actress guilty on all counts against her and further ruled that in case Sadiya continues to defame Isa, she would be sentenced to three years in prison. He equally said the actress had up to three months to appeal the judgment.

Recall that in August 2021, a Sharia court sitting in Kano state convicted Sadiya of obscenity and indecent acts after she was arraigned for “uploading sexual contents on her social media handles.”
