KUMASI — Ghanaian actor, John Dumelo, has taken to social media to mock Nigeria’s Super Eagles following their 0-0 tie with Ghana’s Black Stars in the first leg of their World Cup qualifiers at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi.
The actor, who has much confidence in the Ghanaian football team, had stated before the game that there’s no way Nigeria will win the match, vowing to walk barefoot from his nation’s capital, Accra to Lagos, if Super Eagles win the match.
“There’s no way Nigeria will win today’s match. If they do, I John Setor Dumelo, will walk barefoot from Accra to Lagos tomorrow morning with my ginger on my head! Super eagles my foot!” He wrote on Instagram.
The football match, which took place on Friday, ended in a 0-0 draw after VAR overruled a decision to award the teams a penalty, with both parties automatically meeting in Nigeria on Tuesday, March 29 at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja for the second leg.
Moments after the match ended, the actor cum politician took to his Instagram account to mock the Super Eagles calling them ‘chickens’, stating that he was certain they had no chance of winning the match.
He wrote, “Dear super chickens, I was very confident you won’t win this game. But before you leave for N’ja, I have free ginger from my farm for you. Yours truly…John Dumelo. Son of Likpe.”
