The management of the Nigeria Railway Corporation, NRC, says 21 passengers are still missing, based on the families that the terrorists have been contacting via telephone.
It has, however, confirmed the safety of 170 passengers out of the 362, who boarded train AK9 enroute Kaduna from Abuja attacked by bandits on Monday night last week.
The Managing Director of the NRC, Fidet Okhiria, in a statement notes that as of yesterday (Sunday), four of the affected coaches have been re-railed and taken to Rigasa station.
The statement adds that work continues today (Monday) to ensure restoration of tracks and commencement of full train services, as adequate security arrangements are been made to forestall a recurrence of the unfortunate incident.
