YOLA — A retirement service in respect of the former Bishop, Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria, LCCN, Yola Diocese, Right Reverend Amos Jika Yakubu, held Sunday at LCCN Cathedral, Nasarawo Jimeta.

Performing the retirement service, the Archbishop, Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria, LCCN, and President, Lutheran World Federation, LWF, Most Reverend Dr. Musa Panti Filibus, urged the celebrant to shun acts that will dent and negate his good works.

He encouraged Bishop Amos to continue to help the church with meaningful advice and other services within his purview.

In his address, the host, Bishop of LCCN Yola Diocese, Right Reverend Theophilus Sahanu Shadrach, extolled the leadership quality of the former Bishop of the diocese, Right Reverend Amos Jika Yakubu.

He urged the congregants to support the celebrant adding that his retirement does of imply quitting the work of the gospel.

The celebrant, Right Reverend Amos Jika Yakubu in a remark thanked God for making the day a reality and appreciated support and cooperation he enjoyed during his two term tenure as the Bishop

The retirement service coincides with Palm Sunday drew serving and retired Bishops and pastors from other dioceses of the church as well as people from different walks of life.
