YOLA — Adamawa State House of Assembly during Wednesday’s sitting has approved additional districts after repealing the Adamawa state creation of district law 1992.

The passage of the bill into law followed its third reading on the floor of the house by the majority leader of the house and member representing Jada/Mbulo constituency Alhaji Hammantukur Yettisuri.

Recall that the Ad Hoc Committee for the creation of new districts received ninety 97 memoranda from various communities seeking the creation of additional districts out of which 22 communities were successful.

The new districts are: Nassarawo Abba and Karewa in Yola North local government, Lamorde, Nasarawo and Yadafa in Mubi South local government, Mildu (Mildu Shalmi) in Madagali local government, Garum (Tapare), Serkum(Gurum-Nongvan) in Ganye local government, Gangzamanu, Mayo Duken and Kogin Baba in Toungo local government.

Others are; Vomni, Kilbawo and Mbangan Tiren in Jada local government, Numan and Wayam in Numan local government, Kawon Dowaya, Mbula Penda(Kulasala)Dilli, Bilachi and Sabon Pegi in Demsa local government and Zakawon (Boshikiri) in Guyuk local government.

After the passage of the bill, the speaker of the Assembly, Alhaji Aminu Iya Abbas, directed the clerk to prepare a clean copy of the bill for Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s assent.
